DESCRIPTION: deja view was a branded content film, created to help launch infiniti’s q50 luxury sedan.  this online film combined classic hitchcock-style narrative with advance voice-recognition technology; all you needed was a computer and a phone.  filmed by director phillip van over seven days thoughout oregon, with additional voice recordings being captured in los angeles and new york. the story opens on a couple that wakes up on the road with no memory and a puzzle to solve.  the interactive production company dinah moe combined the nuance voice-recognition technology with voip telephone servers to connect users to the film’s characters.  users could have well over a thousand different combinations of conversations with the characters, to help them solve the puzzle.  this personalized and technology-forward film, dubbed ‘innovative’ by variety, reflected the attributes of infiniti’s q50 perfectly.
